Concrete Stones
|
Newly created stones should not be placed in the freezing weather. They must be completely cured to withstand the elements.
All stones are stamped with a creation date. If that creation date is within two months prior to Winter, keep the stone inside out of the weather until the following Spring. For instance, if you purchase a stone for a Christmas present, and it is created during November or December, it should be kept inside, out of the elements until the freezing weather is over. It may be placed outside the following Spring. If the stone weathers all summer, it is not necessary to bring it inside for winter, however, bringing it indoors will increase its life.
Stones should always be placed on a bed of gravel or other well-draining surface to keep them as dry as possible. Never place your stone in soil or other water-retaining substance. Even though the stone is treated with waterproof sealer, it is still porous and will want to absorb.
If the stone is hot with afternoon sun, do not spray with cold water - it will crack the glass.
