The Process
The process varies depending on the item I am creating.

Vases - Each piece of glass is hand cut and ground on all sides to ensure the vase can be handled safely. Pieces are affixed to the vase surface with a very strong adhesive that dries to a clear finish.

White Humming_smConcrete Stones - Total creation time for a custom concrete stone is approximately three weeks. This allows for hand-crafting the design and concrete drying time. One of the reasons my stones are so durable is the technique I use. Contrary to popular belief, the glass is not placed on top of the concrete. The glass is actually placed in the bottom of the mold, and the concrete is poured on top with reinforcing fiber added to increase the strength of the stone. The wet concrete is then hand finished for a smooth surface. After the concrete is set (approximately three days) the stone is “popped out” of the mold (think of it like baking a cake).  The stone is then placed on a drying rack to cure. The completely dried stone is sealed with concrete waterproof for added durability. MaryAddress stones - The address stone has two pieces of plastic tubing strategically placed during the pouring process to house the rebar. This is how it stands freely. See Care/Maintenance for installation instructions

Wall Hangings - Wall hangings are created with the same process as the concrete stones, but they are poured using a different material that has a more refined texture. This material is available in Antique White and Charcoal Gray colors. The wall hangings are poured to an approximate one inch thickness to make them lighter and more conducive to placement on an interior wall. Brass or copper wire is placed in the back of the stone while it is wet providing secure hooks for hanging.
